One of the most neglected parts of any home is the chimney and dryer vent. With each use debris builds up, sometimes little by little over time and sometimes a lot builds up very quickly causing all sorts of problems. As build up increases the flue or ducts become constricted, slowing the passage of the exhaust allowing more accumulation even faster. The worse the build up gets, the faster it progresses. Heat builds up in the chimney as well, flue gases are hot and a longer residence time mean more heat build up.
